Leadership in Year 5

At Malmesbury everyone in Year 5 has been trained as a Multi Skills Leader through an Inspiration Day led by Merton School Sport Partnership earlier in the year.  This day helped the children develop their leadership and communication skills.  The Year 5's then signed up to lead sporting activities for the younger children at lunchtime in the Key Stage 1 playground.  These activities allow the younger children to discover the fun in being physically active.

Different activities that are on offer to play at lunchtimes include; flip the hoop, grandma's footsteps, target throw and cone stack.

By focusing on new activities that are more inclusive and promote team work, personal/individual progress and social interaction/cooperation, all children will learn new valuable skills and be able to enjoy being active, enhancing their mental health and wellbeing.
