Uniform
At Malmesbury we have an agreed school uniform in order to enhance school pride, unity and community spirit. Wearing a school uniform also reduces the chance of children making judgements about each other based on appearance. As a member of Malmesbury Primary School all children are expected to observe this policy.
- Please remember to label all items of your child's uniform - this includes shoes, lunchboxes and water bottles.
- Please regularly check the uniform your child brings home - it is very easy for items of uniform to get mixed up.
- The only items of jewellery permitted in school are stud earrings.
Our uniform is simple and available at local shops and supermarkets. Items specific to the school can be ordered and paid for via Parentpay or in the school office with a credit/debit card. These items are marked in the list below with an asterisk *. (Please note that payment must be received prior to uniform being collected.) Pupils are free to wear uniform without a logo as long as it complies with the following specifications:

- Grey or black trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress, or blue checked summer dress
- White polo shirt*
- Royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan*
- Grey or white socks
- Sensible black school shoes (preferably not trainers)
- Sandals can be worn during summer months
- Summer/winter hat as appropriate
- Book bag
- PE blue shorts
- PE white T-shirt*
- Plimsolls
- PE bag
When your child goes swimming they will need to bring the following on the day they go:
- Swimming costume
- Towel
- Swim hat for long hair (the school has these to buy)
If your child wears a headscarf or other religious head covering, it should be plain blue or white, without any embellishments. For safety reasons, please only use head coverings designed for use by children, and not long scarves.
