What are we learning at school?

In Nursery our learning is focused on the ‘prime areas’ of development in order to prepare the children for Reception. These are: Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication and Language and Physical Development.

Learning Journals 

 

At Malmesbury, ongoing assessment is an integral part of the learning and development process. Staff observe pupils to identify their level of achievement, interests and learning styles. These observations are used to shape future planning. Staff also take into account observations shared by parents and/or carers.

Each child in Nursery has a learning journal folder which evidences observations as well as guided and independent learning.

Each term a child will receive a ‘special sheet’ with observations evidencing new learning and progress they have made. Please read the guide below:
