Numbers Count

As an Every Child Counts (ECC) school, we aim for all children to become numerate and confident in their Maths ability and to enjoy actively learning Maths. Numbers Count is a programme which is delivered by a specially trained teacher to those children who need extra support in Maths. It helps them get back on track and catch up with their peers. The teacher aims to help them develop the skills and positive attitudes needed to ensure they make good progress in the class Maths lessons. The teacher also supports specially trained teaching assistants to deliver a lighter touch intervention programme called 1stclass@number which helps small groups of children. ECC targets particular children, but it is having a clear impact on mathematical achievement throughout the school.
