We are looking for a parent to join our governing body. The governing body has a vital strategic role. The Government and Ofsted expect it to hold the head and the leadership team to account and drive improvement. The role of the governing board is a strategic one, its key functions are to:
Candidates for parent governor must at the time of election be involved in the full-time care of a child on the register of the school. This parent governor will need to attend full governing body meetings (4 per year) and serve on the Community Committee (3 meetings per year) as well as helping to monitor the work of the senior leadership team through visits in school time (at least 1 per term) and committing to some training. If you would like to stand for election please arrange for the enclosed nomination form, including a short personal statement to support your nomination, which should be no longer than 250 words, to be completed and returned to the school not later than 12.30pm on 19th October 2018.
Self-nominations will be accepted, but if you are nominating another parent please seek their prior consent. If there are more nominations than vacancies the election will be by secret ballot. If that is necessary, voting papers will be sent to all parents together with details of the ballot procedure.
