Choir
The KS2 Choir at Malmesbury is an integral part in the life of the school and provides a platform for children to discover and improve their voices, The choir program plays a vital role in nurturing young voices and instilling a deep appreciation for singing and music in general. We have a diverse repertoire with the children learning songs from a variety of genres and cultures, whilst giving them opportunities to sing songs that are relevant to their own musical tastes. Throughout the year, our choir offers in house performances for parents and the school community, creating opportunities for the children to showcase their musical talents, collaborate and celebrate the joy of music together.
Change is Coming School Project
On March 11th 2024, Malmesbury KS2 Choir took part in the Merton Music Foundation 'Change Is Coming' massed choral project at the Royal Albert Hall. The project was part of MMF’s ‘With One Voice’ Singing Strategy' (a core element of the National Music Plan) which aims to provide children in Years 5, 6 and KS3+ with access to high quality and inspiring choral opportunities. This intensive project provided challenging opportunities for pupils to develop their vocal, choral and general musicianship skills and the whole experience was an exciting foundation for future learning. Everyone was very proud of the children who performed at the Royal Albert Hall!
