Brings out the best in everyone

What are we leaning at home?

Here you can find some activities to do at home in order to build on the learning that children have been doing in school, based on their current topic and the books they are reading.

You can find more ideas in the Home School diary, including spelling lists, and Key Stage 2 children also have a reading journal with activities.

We expect all children to read at home each day as this supports their progress and achievement across all areas of the curriculum.  In addition to the books they choose from the class libraries, children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have access to ebooks on Bug Club.  Once children are in Key Stage 2, they are expected to become more independent in their reading.  They use Accelerated Reader which involves reading books and taking quizzes that check their comprehension.

Children in Key Stage 1 are encouraged to be Maths Magicians, securing their recall of addition and subtraction facts.  As they move into Key Stage 2 they can become Times Table Superstars through rapid recall of multiplication and division facts.  Regular practice at home is key to their success in learning these number facts.

Year 4

We have new homework books available at the office for £3 each.

Find out about the current competitions we are encouraging children to enter on our 'Competitions Page'.
